345 Hours

March 29, 2014 By Tom

345 hours.

That’s what I estimate I’ll be working in next 6 weeks.

It’s simple math.  this coming week is a nice calm 45 hour week, the following five weeks will be (at least) 50 hour Monday-Friday weeks and there is another 50 hours of special events scattered in a few weekends.

And I’m genuinely excited.  In schools 5 days per week, working with over 600 kids each week, doing some really cool sponsor stuff and working with awesome events.  This is the next step that we needed at work to really make magic happen.  I’ve got representatives from major potential sponsors coming through the sites to see what I do first hand.  I’ll have at least three major TV media interviews on three different networks focusing on different school program we’re in.  I’m in discussions to have a video crew follow us for a day of programs to do a video on the passion and vision behind Nine13.  We’ve got some print journalists interested in doing some different and unique stories.  A little overwhelmed in the best possible way.

But it’s been a lot of hard work just to get to the point where we launch the biggest program session in the history of work.  My list of things to do with work is incredibly long.  I have a bunch of meetings this week (7) and am otherwise scrambling to get the trailer decals installed and get our sponsor banners printed and otherwise juggle with the last minute stuff of launching this new session.

I also had a really cool moment yesterday when I discovered that the blog I guest wrote for Bloomerang was picked up by Yahoo Small Business and several other syndicate websites.  And I have been asked to write another guest blog for another website based off the quality of the Bloomerang piece.

I’ve got a nice relaxing day on this very rainy Saturday.  I’m actually doing a little bit of writing for So Much Life in Such Little Time and gathering my thoughts on how I want to proceed.  I also started another blog post, that will most likely get finished and posted for tomorrow talking about some of the other things that have been going on in my life over the past few months.

I got _rightfully_ called out the other day by PiC on this blog being so focused on work and skipping over the good, bad and ugly occurring elsewhere in my life.  So, I’m writing about common sense and cooler heads and the “other things” that have been getting juggled by me.  It’s been a long few weeks, and it hasn’t all be rainbows and sunshine as I continue to hope logical thought prevails by all parties.

I’ll keep writing if you keep reading, deal?
