A Hollywood Start to 2015

Being featured in a new video that isn’t a Nine13sports promo piece, but instead a launch of a marketing campaign for Candidio, one of the coolest video production companies around is certainly a great way to kick off 2015. Without shame or modesty, I can say that I’m incredibly honored they wanted Nine13sports to tell their story and promote their product and that they made the whole thing look awesome.

It’s awesome that as we continue to delve into 2015 with a full year behind our relationships with marketing and brand driven units that we begin to find ourselves in really cool situations of companies wanting to further utilize the visual appeal of what I’ve created for their own visions. That’s the best kind of compliment to get, that somebody else wants to be involved with the brand I’ve built from the ground up.

the photo I’ve used for most of my social media stuff recently was from one of those photo shoot days and is also highlighted in the video

If 2014 taught me anything that was totally unexpected, it was how to work around a camera and be comfortable in my own skin despite spotlights and cameramen around.

I went back and re-watched the original video for NCSR and am thoroughly impressed with how well edited that was–because I had zero idea of what I was doing at that point in my life. I was never a fan of our early Nine13 media spots and felt I didn’t carry confidence in front of the camera and it’s an area that I really worked on in 2014 to develop. I watched tape of so many interviews that other people have done and compared their best and worst features to what I was doing and practiced till I was sick of talking to myself.

I think that hard work paid off and I’d like to think that Nathan, Braden, Zeph and the rest of the crew didn’t want to kill me over the course of those four days of shooting for this video and all the extra footage we shot. Nathan and I got lunch earlier this week before the video release, so I couldn’t have been that awful to work with, right?

Work hard, practice a ton, be confident–that’s how I went from feeling super uneasy in front of a camera to doing these marketing pieces.

I have a feeling 2015 will involve a lot more video both for Nine13 and other adventures along the way.

What do you think about the video? Let me know!

Cheers,
