Come Hang Out With Us

I’ve written about my 9-5 (24/7) job as an executive director for Nine13sports which I co-founded with two partners several years ago.  To steal the words from our corporate website (www.nine13sports.org)…

A fresh and unique concept that brings cycling to Central Indiana youth and allows them to experience a sport that promotes health and wellness for a lifetime.

Indy Velo Inc. (dba Nine13sports) is a Central Indiana 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes health, wellness, and exercise for local youth between the ages of 8 and 18 using bicycling as the gateway.  We have created a unique program in which we have integrated the traditional bicycle with technology to provide a turnkey product for youth programs, schools, and other community organizations at no cost to them.  In addition to individual betterment of health and fitness, our programs promote community, teamwork, and mutual respect for one another.  Our vision is to use the art and sport of cycling to teach and positively influence our participants and leave a lasting impact.

here I am coaching at one of our program sites a few weeks ago

Anyways–we’ve got a huge event in downtown Indianapolis this Saturday that is paired with the annual Indy Crit bike race/festival that is going on.  We’ll be there for the whole day with all of our equipment doing the same “race” format as we do with kids all week long.   Here is our PR on it from last month: http://nine13sports.org/nine13sports-partners-with-indy-crit-for-race-day-programming/

Want to stop by and see what I do every day?  Hang out for a bit and see if you can hold off a 12 year old who has been training for this with us for weeks?

Want nothing to do with me but want to see Lauren?  She’ll be there as our number 1 volunteer!

the super secret all access pass reserved for rock stars and Nine13sports staff (one and the same in our world)

So if you’re in Indy and want to stop by come on down!  It’s at University Park and will be a blast.  More info can be found at http://www.indycrit.com/ All the cool kids will be there!

Cheers
