It’s Not That Post

June 25, 2014 By Tom

A lot has happened in the last few weeks personally and professionally, and I’m sure there are a handful of the ever growing followers of the blog that were waiting for a post related to my divorce being finalized.  You’ll get it, at some point, but I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had a moment to sit down and pen out what deserves to be penned out (the bigger picture of the story).

I’ve been doing a ton recently, work has been crazy with new partnerships and finalizing sponsorships, hiring staff and getting ready for some big decisions that we’ll be making.  I’ve had a lot of days recently that have a crazy schedule, and here is mine for today:

6:30AM: wake up

7:00AM: in the truck driving to Greensburg, IN

8:30AM: Setup programming and get caught up on emails

10AM-1PM: programming event

1PM-1:30PM: load out

1:30PM: Drive back to Indy

2:30PM-4PM: Emails, phone calls and work out of the Speak Easy

4PM: a very late lunch

5:30PM: IPS Budget Development Committee meeting

6:30PM: meeting at the Skyline Club

8PM: Home (finally)

But that’s the schedule of an entrepreneur, and I knew what I signed up for.  It’s not all work though, still time for play and love–how could I write a blog post today and not mention love?  Indiana’s move into the 21st century by allowing for equality in marriage is huge, and moving, and I’m proud to be a Hoosier today.

A few photos from the past few days

my office today

and yes, office time is even better when there are flowers involved

Sunday fun with a beer sampler (including to nitro beers)

And of course, thanks to everyone who reached out yesterday after hearing about the storms coming through Indianapolis.  I’m just a few miles from where the real damage was and the house escaped without issue, though our neighbor lost a few big branches off their tree.  Fortunate and glad that nobody was injured here in Indianapolis.  We had closed down our program site early to give staff a chance to get home safely, which made for an interesting drive home in the truck trying to get parked before the worst parts came over.  I snapped the photo below as I was making a break for it.

that’s downtown Indy, and that’s a creepy cloud

I’ll get the blog penned that you’re all expecting at some point, after I have a chance to collect myself and catch up with things.
Cheers,
