No Pressure No Problems
August 5, 2013It’s been a while, just when writing is fluid and dynamic something comes up with work or life and implodes it. I haven’t been writing on the blog, writing SMLISLT or anything else in like a month–I’ve been writing work emails, grant applications or been at program sites.
The most random part of the past month was the random trip L and I took to St. Lucia last week. We were looking for a week to get away and realized we had one week between now and November that would work for a trip and booked it 2 weeks before we left.
The usual saying on the island is “No Pressure No Problem”–a saying I am trying to keep in mind as I came back to a crazy amount of work this week and next week!
We had a blast, it was beautiful weather, great service, beautiful views and a perfect romantic week away; just what the doctor ordered after our crazy schedules recently. Highlighting what a small world it is, our second night at the resort we met a couple from Broadripple who we wound up hanging out with all week. Nothing like 4 Hoosiers to party on an island together and represent IU. Lauren and I hiked to the top of the closest Piton mountain by our resort one morning that served as an old military radio tower and gunnery station and had a beautiful view of Martinique just 25 miles north of our island.
Lauren is back to writing—hard to believe I know—but look for her to make an appearance this week.
