Rocking and Rolling and Fundraising $26 for Lauren’s Run
October 4, 2012October came around so quickly I’m still pondering how we’re here. We began so many different efforts in September between the deck and house, work and Lauren getting ready for her upcoming 26.2 that it went by way to fast. Hard to believe it was only a month ago that I was in Arizona with my dad, the backyard was trashed and I was still 25 years old!
At the suggestion of a good friend, I am trying something new in the fundraising arena for Nine13sports, but doing so at a personal level by setting a $1,000.00 crowd funding goal and hoping to get some good momentum with it. This is more “my thing” than the corporate efforts but I wanted to try it out and believe that $1,000.00 from our readers and friends is a goal that is obtainable. The money raised from this will help offset costs for some upcoming programs with a local public school.
So here is the deal–I’m hoping that all of you will consider donating $26.20 in honor of Lauren running her marathon on Sunday in Chicago. When Lauren did her first full marathon last December she set a goal to dedicate each of the last 6 miles to someone and she’s dedicating a mile of the marathon to the people who donates to this effort. I would love to see this explode through the social media world in the next few days to show support.
For all of Lauren’s running friends–you know how hard she has worked, for all of my cycling friends–you know how passionate I am about getting kids on bicycles.
