Sketch in London – #Day 3
December 3, 2013This post is part of Think Kit by SmallBox, today’s prompt: “Share the strangest experience of your year. Did you do something new or unexpected, see something out of the ordinary, or have a unique experience? What was so strange about it?”
I’m going to go with “unique experience” for this prompt after thinking all morning and it finally dawned on me; that afternoon I spent drinking mojitos and bloody marys and eating a cupcake in a bar in London named “Sketch“, mostly themed after Alice in Wonderland.
Through a friend we were told we had to check this place out, that it was trippy and unlike anything else. Off on a side street, not far from Trafalgar Square–this place was everything weird and so much more.
Seriously, the general description of this place has to be “like being in a drug trance”
And the bathrooms, normally not the thing that stands out in a dining establishment, in Sketch fashion, these did…

community bathroom, just pick a side of the steps (though I was yelled at that men go on the left stairs, women on the right)
And just like in a movie, the toilets apparently doubled as a rocket ship
When i think back to the oddities of 2013, I will always remember that afternoon at Sketch, there is simply nothing else that tops my list of odd and unique experiences for the year. Seriously, if you’re in London, you need to check this place out.
Until tomorrow,
