Time Warp
September 29, 2014There’s something surreal about getting ready to enter into October. There’s something more surreal about the fact that after next week I’ve got a 2 week fall break between program sites that will let me catch up on meetings and get ready for the last programming before the new year. Dates that seemed an eternity away are quickly coming up and I know that the time between now and Thanksgiving and then Thanksgiving to Christmas is just going to fly by.
The past few weeks have been full of fun to offset the many hours of work I’ve been tackling. It’s been a lot of friends, social events, business social events and kickball in the last few weeks. This past weekend was the 2014 Collegiate Track Nationals down at the velodrome and it was great to see some of my favorite people and be able to help them out through some coaching. I’ve got a much lower key week ahead and am taking full advantage of bachelor life by sitting on my couch with the dogs and relaxing in the evenings. I can’t remember the last time I had so many open or low key evenings in a row and it’s a great way to recharge the batteries.
I’ve got a follow up meeting with my literary crew on Thursday and to be pretty honest, I haven’t made a ton of progress in the last few weeks. I’m looking at the upcoming fall break and 2 weeks off to tackle some writing and catch up with everything. I think I’ve got some ideas on how to work through a few of the things that were hanging me up–but I still have a heck of a long way to go. The other upside is I really seem to have firmed up the split between SMLISLT as a true story/life experiences/overcoming piece and the more professional second piece I want to do on the nonprofit story.
To wrap up the last few weeks, here are a few photos–I’ll be writing more so keep checking back!
